JOHN COLEMAN

artist biography

The Bodmer/Catlin Series of 10

This series of John Coleman includes ten standing figures and documents several tribes, a record
of which would never have been left to us were it not for the courage and dedication of
painters Karl Bodmer (1809-1893) and George Catlin (1796-1872).

These artful three-dimensional interpretations by John Coleman make him one of the
leading sculptors today portraying the historical nature and mythology of western subjects.
