This painting of my good cowboy friend, BJ Wachob, shows the mutual satisfaction that exists between top hands and good cow horses. The lineback horse is all heart and turns in a hard day’s work for little more than a morral full of oats and the occasional stroke of acknowledgment from the cowboy. No wonder these men and horses are so intertwined. They share the satisfaction of a job well done. Their purposes in life run parallel: work hard, hold your head high, and know you gave it all you had. And if occasionally, you find your reins underfoot, it’s all part of the partnership.
