I really owe this painting to my wife, Pam. She happened upon Cory in a Wal-Mart in Uvalde, Texas. He was cruising the aisles in spurs and a wild rag. I approached him and pinned him down about letting me photograph him breaking colts in Sabinal, Texas. Cory is a bit old school when it comes to bronc-y colts and he wastes no time in climbing into the middle of his horses and getting the hard work done. He’s moved on to some other outfit in some other town or some other state. But maybe our paths will cross again someday. For now I have good memories of a hot day spent in the round pen in Uvalde County, Texas.
