If you've never seen ten cowboys thunder across a flat--dead out, ropes down, all for the glory of ropin' a wild burro, then you just haven't lived well. There's a certain amount of novelty that comes with the side-line sport of roping wild animals that aren't cattle. Bears and coyotes top the list, and in Texas, wild hogs really set you apart. What fascinated me was how bad the burros wanted to lock on to someone. They have a gentle nature once they are brought to hand, and this match set was no different. They are now living the good life and no longer having to scratch out a living.
