I have come to enjoy painting longhorns. I'm moved by their wild, rangy dispositions and the majesty of their appearance. Once again, this fine specimen is from deep South Texas, where the brush offers a harsh life of thorns and an arid experience. In this country of hard knocks, longhorns become smart and wild. They have a bit of savvy... different from most cattle. And I was proud to be able to capture the regal pose of this fellow.
